short courses

Emerald Community House offers a diverse range of courses for adults and children.  Courses are run throughout school terms in a relaxed environment during the day, evenings and weekends.  Our courses are divided into two broad categories, general courses and ACFE (Adult & Community Further Education) courses which are government subsidised.  Cardinia Shire also offers a 50% subsidy to Cardinia Shire Volunteers undertaking courses in marketing and recruitment, committees of management, grant writing and fundraising, effective communication, working with special needs, food handling, first aid, basic bookkeeping including MYOB, Quickbooks, introduction to computers (word, excel and internet only) and business planning.

Courses are designed for those who want to improve or develop new skills, to pursue creative interests or simply get together with other like-minded people.

Our courses are run comprising qualified tutors and facilitators who want to share their skills.  Anyone who is skilled in a particular area and would like to explore the possibility of tutoring a class should contact ECH on 5968 3881.

ACFE (Adult & Community Further Education)

All ACFE courses are government subsided and are aimed towards developing workplace skills and  creating  employment opportunities. ECH ensures a high standard of pre-accredited training through qualified instructors and encourages students to pursue Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Recognition of Current Competency (RCC). All ACFE funded courses cost $1.08 per hour plus any materials and amenity fees required.  Health Care Card and Pensioner Card holders may be eligible for a concession rate.  Please inquire at time of enrolling.
